About The Artist

Jenna  is a native New Yorker.  Influenced at an early age by both her exposure to various art forms and her fathers' artist lifestyle, she used the opportunity to be surrounded by a multitude of cultures and art styles. “ I have been inspired by the culture and the life that made New York breathe.”

Since childhood, she has been intrigued by the way dust dances in sunbeams just as much as the amazing works of masters like O’Keefe, Degas and Picasso. Though her work is free from the confines of any one particular style, these influences and her own life experiences can be seen in her work.

After returning from some "Artistic" time off, Jenna explains: "I was finding myself in a place where I was producing not creating. This was often leaving me unfulfilled. I realized I needed some time to re-evaluate the scope and direction of my work. My recent journey has refreshed my creative spirit and given insight to my spiritual center. I find it therapeutic when I work. There is a means of expression in it that I cannot find in anything else."

Jenna is frequently seen leaving her studio literally covered in paint. "I am passionate about my painting. I get into it. I will paint with my hands if it feels right! There is a relationship I have with the paint. I like to feel the connection .....the paint on my hands."

Her new works are more subdued abstracts that become a visual exploration into the sensations of a human experience. Each new painting serves as tangible evidence of a personal quest for a profound inner serenity. "My work is about the emotional connection between art and being human. Tears, laughter and circumstance come to life for me when I work with paint"

Using materials like Plexiglas panels and recycled materials with a reverse painting technique, encourage exploration while in the moment. The final product is spontaneous and never forced. Free flowing strokes on glass, while listening to music aid to the spontaneity of her paintings.  "I am finding a truthful beauty in the irregularity often lost when I was attempting to get finite details technically correct."

Jenna is completely self-taught; “My resume shows no formal education, classes or workshops in terms of art. I have found that this either hinders my opportunities or opens amazing doors to me.”  Her true love for art and her insatiable need to create was always and continues to be a constant driving force. “I truly believe that it has helped me heal myself both physically and mentally."

Over the years her art has been exhibited at a number of venues and charity based events. She has established a solid private and corporate clientele. Currently, she is working from her studio in Beacon Falls, CT.  where she is expanding her new body of work called Abstract Expressions.
